NEWSBOYS (2008)

Newsboys was a collaborative production between Miles O’Neil, Joseph O’Farrell and Glen Walton of The Suitcase Royale and Greg Whelan and Gary Winter of the UK’s Lone Twin.

Dressed as Depression-era newsboys, The Suitcase Royale and Lone Twin collected stories of the banal and bizarre from random commuters on the streets of Melbourne. These stories were then turned into a broadsheet-style paper that was disseminated daily for free at city train stations during rush hour.

The work ran for five days as part of the 2008 Melbourne International Arts Festival. Dressed as Depression-era newsboys, The Suitcase Royale collected stories of the banal and bizarre from random commuters on the streets of Melbourne.
